Criteria for admission

The Ph.D. program is intended for doctoral students of the Centers for Social, Economic, and Decision Psychology at the University of Basel. Inclusion in one of these four centers is a prerequisite for application to the doctoral program.
 

Application procedure

The application comprises:

• Letter of motivation
• Letter of recommendation (including confirmation of admission to the department) by a member of the program management team
• Curriculum vitae (with, if applicable, information on publications, lectures and third-party funding/grants/prizes)
• Confirmation of matriculation (University of Basel)
• Confirmation of admission to doctoral studies from the Department of Psychology (can be submitted later)
• An undertaking to act with scientific integrity

The dossier will be submitted to the Coordination Office. The project management team decides on admission to the doctoral program.
 

Start

Entry into the Ph.D. course is usually linked to the start of the doctoral program and is possible at any time.
 

Graduation

Participation in the Ph.D. program usually ends with a successful defense of the thesis.
